BALANCE eating disorder treatment center™ has a 10-year legacy of transforming lives by promoting health, healing, and hope to our clients and their families. We serve adolescents and adults in providing all levels of eating disorder outpatient care. It is our mission to create a transformative therapeutic experience based on our nutritional philosophy of intuitive eating using the All Foods Fit Model. At BALANCE™ we employ a diversity of treatment modalities to help clients develop a neutral and peaceful relationship with food, body acceptance, and positive self-esteem.

We are proud to offer Social Work and Dietetic students enriching internship opportunities through our clinical & dietetic departments. Our team has helped students both in the local New York City area and nationwide to develop skills and knowledge to prepare for a professional career in the field of nutrition or psychology with a strong understanding of the treatment of eating disorders.

Our Founder

Our Founder & CEO Melainie Rogers, MS, RDN, CDN, CEDRD-S is passionate about educating students and fellow professionals on eating disorders and the spectrum of disordered eating. She is currently an adjunct professor in the Department of Nutrition and Food Studies at New York University teaching a course on the treatment of eating disorders. Melainie is an official mentor through iaedp’s (International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals) Connection, Outreach, and Mentoring Committee (COMC). As a mentor, Melainie uses her vast experience to provide guidance to clinicians new to the field of eating disorders.

Melainie oversees all BALANCE eating disorder treatment center™ interns by working closely with direct supervisors in each department including our Clinical Director, Lead Dietitian & Director of Admissions to provide the best learning experience for students.
