Social Media Marketing Intern
BALANCE eating disorder treatment center specializes in the treatment of anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, compulsive eating and disordered eating. We are currently seeking a social media marketing intern to assist with the management and expansion of our social media accounts. The Social Media Intern will report to the Social Media Coordinator and to the Marketing Outreach team. This intern will work collaboratively to build awareness about BALANCE’s programs and provide general education to the public on eating disorder, mental health and nutrition topics.
Responsibilities include:

Assist with creating content, posts and social advertisements

Research relevant content and information for posts

Curate articles and news relevant to our community

Coordinate posts with Social Media Coordinator/Blogging Intern

Explore ways to effectively inform and engage with our colleagues and community

Assist with the execution of social media content calendar goals

Increase overall brand awareness through strategic planning, posting, and engagement

Design visual posts for social channels
Desired Skills & Qualifications:

Passionate about providing information and resources to those affected by eating disorders and mental health issues

Have basic knowledge or an interest on the topics of eating disorders, mental health and nutrition

Experience in the management of social media channels for a brand, company or organization (not solely personal use)

Familiarity with the following platforms: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn

Preferred: experience with the following management platforms including Buffer, Planoly, Canva & Feedly

Ability to meet deadlines

Competent written and verbal communication skills

Self-starter and ability to work independently
Hours:
-
8-12 hours weekly

Flexible hours, ability to work from home, on-site work if in the NYC area

Available for a weekly check-in call
