Inside and Out: The Challenging Negotiation of Family and Therapeutic Needs
Balancing the needs of adolescents & young adults in the framework of the family system presents special challenges. Parents must learn to foster their child’s autonomy while providing consistent behavioral limits. There is a fine balance for both parents and children between having a voice and needing structure. This presentation will explore these themes through a combination of case narratives and the application of clinical practice.
