Clinical Outreach and Marketing Intern

We are looking for a Clinical Outreach and Marketing Intern to join our team at BALANCE eating disorder treatment center™ in New York City.

BALANCE eating disorder treatment center™ is a nationally recognized outpatient treatment center located in New York City. Founded by Melainie Rogers, MS, RDN, CDN, CEDRD-S, BALANCE specializes in the treatment of anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder and other eating & body image conditions. BALANCE offers comprehensive programming that includes day treatment, an intensive outpatient program, a weekend program, groups, meal support and nutritional counseling. We are currently seeking an intern to assist the outreach & marketing department. This intern will report to the Clinical Outreach Coordinator and will work collaboratively with the marketing team to build awareness about BALANCE’s programs and provide general education to the public on eating disorder, mental health and nutrition topics.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintain inventory and oversee marketing materials for the department 

  • Provide consistent data entry of client and referral partner information 

  • Assist Outreach Coordinator with all aspects of event planning and participate in hosting BALANCE events

  • Represent BALANCE by attending events, workshops, and conferences 

  • Assist Outreach Coordinator with targeted community outreach projects including making phone calls, sending email inquiries and making site visits

  • Coordinate and maintain national referral directories

  • Assist with competitive analysis reports

  • Participate in creating and developing educational and marketing materials

  • General clerical tasks to support the outreach & marketing team 

  • Participate in other projects as needed 

  • Attend weekly meetings at BALANCE as indicated

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Passionate about providing information and resources to those affected by eating disorders and mental health issues 

  • Have basic knowledge or an interest in eating disorders, mental health and nutrition 

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Familiarity with and basic knowledge of social media platforms

  • Competent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to meet deadlines 

  • Self-starter and ability to work independently


  • 12-15 hours weekly 

  • In-office hours and ability to work remotely
