BALANCE soon to be in-network with UHC and CIGNA

When seeking treatment, the quality of care you receive can make all the difference. Effective, lasting treatment is about providing personalized care that addresses the unique needs of each individual.

Thanks to our OMH licensure and JAICHO certification, our clients continue to receive higher out-of-network insurance reimbursements. And now, we’re excited to announce our next step in making care more accessible: Starting in 2025, BALANCE will be an in-network provider with both Cigna and UnitedHealthcare (UHC).

At BALANCE, our commitment to providing top-quality care sets us apart. Our primary goal is to work collaboratively with you and your loved ones to ensure that treatment is not only accessible but also of the highest possible standard.

Financing

BALANCE is a New York State OMH licensed Mental Health Clinic and Licensed Telehealth Facility.

We understand that eating disorder recovery is challenging enough without the added stress of financial concerns. That’s why we offer multiple payment options, including in-network coverage with CIGNA and UHC, as well as out-of-network benefits from other insurance providers. For clients who need additional financial support, we also work with project heal, CareCredit and Prosper Healthcare Lending to make treatment more accessible and manageable.

FAQ

What is the difference between in-network and out-of-network?

Understanding the distinction between in-network and out-of-network services is crucial for making informed decisions about your medical care and managing your costs effectively.

In-network refers to healthcare providers and facilities with established contracts with your insurance company.

On the other hand, out-of-network providers do not have a contracted relationship with your insurance company.

What are out-of-network insurance benefits?

Out-of-network insurance benefits refer to the coverage provided by your insurance plan when you receive medical services from healthcare providers who are not within the network. This can allow you to exercise greater control over your healthcare decisions and access care that aligns with your preferences and needs.

The BALANCE eating disorder treatment center ™ is an out-of-network provider, and we will work with you every step of the way to help you access these benefits if they are offered within your insurance plan.

How do you know if you have out-of-network benefits?

Determining whether you have out-of-network benefits under your health insurance plan is crucial in understanding your coverage options and making informed healthcare choices. Here’s how you can find out if your plan includes out-of-network benefits:

  1. Book a call with the BALANCE team, and we will run a verification of benefits (VOB) for you. You can also call us at 212-645-6903.

Alternatively you can do any of the following on your own to verify your insurance benefits:

  1. Review your insurance policy documents

  2. Contact your insurance company

  3. Check your insurance card

  4. Access your online member portal

Remember that the availability and extent of out-of-network benefits can vary widely among insurance plans.

If I don’t have out-of-network benefits, what other options are there?

We understand that the process of pursuing eating disorder recovery can be stressful, and financial concerns often make treatment seem inaccessible. That’s why at BALANCE, we strive to make care accessible and alleviate the financial burden by offering various payment options tailored to your needs.

We aim to provide compassionate, comprehensive, and high-quality treatment that lets you focus on recovery without worrying about the cost. To achieve this accessibility, BALANCE offers multiple financing options as a means of paying for treatment over an extended period of time.

Financing options include:

CareCredit, a healthcare credit card that allows you to pay for health and wellness treatment over an extended period of time.
