EATING DISORDER weeknight intensive outpatient PROGRAm (IOP)

The BALANCE Eating Disorder Weeknight Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a highly customized, structured evening program for those 16 and older suffering from anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder and disordered eating. 

Our weeknight program meets 3 times a week, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00 - 9:00 pm, with a convenient Saturday option from 8:30 am - 1:30 pm, allowing continuation of work and/or school commitments.

Our Weeknight Program includes the following components:

  • Initial consultation and evaluation (psychological and nutritional) with individual treatment planning 

  • Small group setting, providing a low client-to-clinician ratio 

  • Weekly individual nutrition therapy sessions and bi-weekly individual therapy case management sessions

  • Behavioral, cognitive and psychodynamic group therapy with a focus on challenges to recovery, skills building for mood and impulse management, and body image work

  • Experiential group therapies (art therapy)

  • Mealtime support and processing

  • Exposure therapy (restaurant meals, challenge foods)

  • Co-treatment model providing ongoing communication and collaboration during treatment with referring team members

  • Alumni support and services upon discharge
